𝐑𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐀𝐂𝐃𝐇𝐑𝐒 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐫𝐬 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐡 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫

As part of its 2025 initiative to recognize Gambian Women Champions, the Raise the Young Foundation has today honoured Mrs. Hannah Forster, Executive Director of the African Centre for Democracy and Human Rights Studies (ACDHRS), for her outstanding contributions to gender equality and women’s empowerment in The Gambia. The award celebrates her unwavering dedication, resilience, and leadership in advancing a more just and inclusive society.

Yankuba Keita, Founder and CEO of the Foundation and a former intern at the Centre, emphasized the crucial role ACDHRS plays in promoting gender equality and human rights. He highlighted Mrs. Forster’s long-standing and impactful work in these areas.

In her acceptance speech, Mrs. Forster expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Foundation for the recognition. She dedicated the award to all women, from those working on farms and gardens to those in offices, acknowledging the vital roles they play in shaping the country and beyond.
