The African Centre for Democracy and Human Rights Studies (ACDHRS) is pleased to announce the Training for Religious and Traditional Leaders on Engaging with the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights and Regional and International Human Rights Mechanisms, scheduled to take place from 14th – 16th October 2025 in Banjul, The Gambia.
This three-day training will strengthen the capacity of religious and traditional leaders across Africa to engage effectively with the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR) and other human rights mechanisms. It will provide a platform for dialogue, experience-sharing, and strategy development to address challenges such as conflicts, military and constitutional coups, sexual and gender-based violence, and harmful traditional practices.
Who can apply?
Religious and traditional leaders from across Africa, irrespective of affiliation, who are committed to advancing human rights, peace, and democratic governance.
